Are you looking for tips on the Comptia Security+ certification, or the PCNSA/PCNSE ones from Palo Alto Networks? 😉

I got my security+ many many (MANY!) moons ago so am not sure what the requirements are today

Hey Reaper,

I’m actually trying to get into a company like Palo Alto and I figured getting a certification in Security +, CCNA and MCSE will help my chances. I’m enrolled at New Horizons Computer Learning Center and the my Security course will be over at the end od January. Then I move on to the next courses CCNA and MCSE.



I’m currently in the Dallas, Texas area and looking forward to building a network of IT peers as well.

If you're trying to get into Palo Alto I'd focus on networking and cyber security courses, and less so on Microsoft. A good start would be the PCCSA, as its at the Security+ level, but with PAN-specific information, followed by the PCNSA. I would certainly recommend CCNA and CCNA Security for the foundational networking knowledge. CEH would be useful to get a solid understanding of the attacker POV and the type of things we are trying to prevent with the PAN platform. AWS has a well-developed certification program, and since PAN products are deployable into clouds like AWS/Azure/Google Cloud, having an understanding of the cloud would set you ahead.
