How many milsec/sec does it take for the active PA-5020 to switch to Passive in a HA environment?

Hi ,

If you are manually suspending a device by using the CLI command "request high-availability state suspend" or GUI; it would switch to passive device instantaneously but in case of an event causing a HA fail-over where heart beats are missed then it would be depended on what heart beat interval timer is set on the device.

Below are the recommended timers for HA on 5000 series.

promotion hold time2000
hello interval1000
heartbeat interval1000
max no. of flaps3
preemption hold time1
monitor fail hold up time0
additional master hold up time500

Hope this helps

Thank you
