User-ID Agent 8.0.2-20 - Auto Update not working

L2 Linker

Hello!

I am having an issue with Auto Update not working. I have the agnets installed on three seperate servers and have had to hand-jam the rest of the Domain Controller's in order to get them connected. I've only put in 1/3 of them but was wanting the Auto-Discover to do the rest of the work. I have the PA AD account installed on the Primary DC and it's loggin in with no issues. Anyone know what might be the issue?

Im sure you just add it to your dns. Point it to ip of any dc.

Good luck....

post the srv request if you have time...

sorry never had this issue, are the 3 servers members of the same domain as your AD servers, if you see what I mean... or are they standalone...

Neither have I. They are all a part of the same domain and all have the same OS (2012 R2). It's jusrt weird.

I did upgrade to 8.0.3-21 and never had the same issue as you, i did have to go back to 6.x immediately but that was for a different issue. perhaps you could try something above 8.0.2-20.

have you tried to wireshark the packets when you select "autodiscover", it may help....

wireshark may show DNS standard query to "_ldap_tcp.pdc_msdcs.yourdomain"

try a NSLookup to see if resolves.

I will run a PCAP and see what I can find out! THANKS for that!!

Ok nice one. FYI....  im sure that the agent adds the dns suffix for its dns query from the user id in the agent setup page. Not the server ip dns suffix or the service account user id for the user agent

hope that makes sense....

Hello Mick!

Turns out that we are querying for an autodiscover SRV record that doesn't exist. And, I'm guessing since it doesn't exist, we can't poll all the Domain Controllers. So now I am left to find out how to create the SRV record for the DC's.

Does that make sense? Thanks for all your help too!

Im sure you just add it to your dns. Point it to ip of any dc.

Good luck....

post the srv request if you have time...

Sorry, I forgot to update.

Once the record was included, everything worked fine 🙂

OK nice one, thanks for the update.

Mick.
