Vulnerability Management - Mapping the threatvault to configuration management

L0 Member

Hi,

Working on a Vulnerability Management project at the moment, I was trying to streamline the basic actions as much as possible. The following would be incredible if PAN would incorporate this.

A add-on for Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (or a different CMDB-ish software) that will, based on the configuration, identify:

  • which threats in the threatvault are already patched on the target system (and therefore might be excluded, to prevent minimize false positives);
  • which threats in the threatvault are still/only relevant for the target system (and therefore to be incorperated) and;
  • Which vulnerabilities in the target system are not yet protected by the PAN (at least you will know the risks).

Adressing this case, it should not be that hard, at least for the threats that have an CVE (Common Vulnerability and Exposures) to map this with a CPE (Common Platform Enumeration).

What do you think?

With kind regards,

Johan
