Hi All,.
What happens if threat and antivirus licenses expire? is the vulnerability,anti-spyware and antivirus will works fine with the existing database? or the feature itself will get disabled (we cant use the filters in policy)?
Kindly provide information.
Regards,
Gururaj

Threat prevention (AV/Apps & Threats) license expiration will only stop the new updates while these features will continue to function with existing Database.

I never thought of this but is this also true for if you reboot the PA device and what if you update the PANOS version (or for that matter returns to previous version where you had an expired threatdb available)?

You could restore to a previous version or config, but the date of the license would not change, so it would still not completely work.
Now the real question is... what if you backdated the FW to a previous time/date (maybe 2002, when the 2013 and 2002 calendar are repeating pattern of each other.) :smileysilly:

Have not tested all the scenarios but Rebooting the FW or Updating the PAN-OS should not stop the functionality to work as the Content DB would not change with reboot.
.I guess Factory reset could be a corner case.
