Wildfire cloud registration attempts without license

L0 Member

Hi,

I am having an issue with PA-220 appliances attempting to contact wildfire cloud. They do not have Wildfire license, but are attempting to register at wildfire.paloaltonetworks.com. The issue is that the firewalls are attempting to set up this connection and generating a lot of unnecessary traffic.

How can i stop the firewalls from attempting to register?

Hi @jonasa ,

Disable passive DNS monitoring in the Anti-Spyware profile :

Firewall does WildFire Registration even though WildFire is Not Configured on the Firewall

Hope this helps,

-Kiwi.

Thank you for the reply. The article describes the case, but the solution does not fit. I should have mentioned that i am using PANOS 9.1 in this implementation.

Passive DNS monitoring is disabled from the telemetry settings, but im not sure if that is the only place where it is set?
