GlobalProtect client upgrade "Prompt" file location?

L1 Bithead

We are using the GlobalProtect Agent Upgrade Process "prompt" method to upgrade our users GP client. We are having issues with our last version upgrade to GP 3.1.1 on all of our PAN firewalls, where some of our clients get this message - "The program can't start because mfc120u.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem."
The quick fix was go into control panel and repair the GlobalProtect client. This doesn't happen if I uninstall the client then manually download and install the client from the GP portal.
I do not want to go to the next version 3.1.5 and have the same issue happen.

I am trying to find out how the allow with "Prompt" GP upgrade works differently than just running the downloaded GlobalProtect64.msi from the portal. When you upgrade from the "Prompt" method what directory does that install file go to and what is the name of the file and how does it "upgrade" the client differently than the Portal GlobalProtect64.msi install file? I can not find any documentation on how this works?

Or Palo Alto can just fix there GlobalProtect64.msi install so that it will also upgrade the client!
