There is still no way to remove the file manually however as stated previously it will auto remove the file when you generate a new one. It will also auto delete if the disk space gets low, in fact I have seen (on 7.x) low disk space cause issues generating a new tech support file because it filled up the space before it was done and then deleted itself 😄 If you are concerned about disk space you can clear some pcaps and old logs/reports from the CLI, there are several support docs and posts with more details like https://knowledgebase.paloaltonetworks.com/KCSArticleDetail?id=kA10g000000ClaJCAS

AFAIK It's normal for the GlobalProtect client to pop up if it's not configured since it is in 'first use' mode and requires login and portal information to get the config file and then remain quiet
If the agent is then configured in SSO mode or allowed to save credentials, the splash will not show up again until the password is expired for example

If you have on-demand connect method with GlobalProtect and have encountered issues with the app not being resillient , for e.g. 1. Does not detect VPN disconnects fast enough and continue to think its connected 2. Drops connection when there is temproray network glitches then please unicast me or reach out to your palo alto networks account team or support so that we can better understand the concerns/requirements to evaluate future enhancements.

WHy does the entire palo customer base need to open a ticket in order to get updates when an outage will be resolved? Can't you simply post it here or better yet - add a status page to your site? (mind blown)

Update: Working well in production - recommended.
One cosmetic caveat: In the OSX client, if you go into the Panel -> Host State tab, you will find that for many categories, the Prod data is not displayed. Its cosmetic only - the correct data does go to the firewalls. Fix is slated for version 2.3.4.
Some good news for the day: The GlobalProtect 2.3.3-5 client with application content 539 (or later) seems to be the magic combination. Both VPN and HIP Checks are working properly on our OSX 10.11.1 test "victim" machines. User testing is scheduled - but so far, so good

used duosecurity as MFA solution. its a bit of a hack to work with palo, with poor instructions and has limitations but once it works it does work smoothly.
