Was there a resolution to this case? At DFW Airport, we experienced the same situation last Sunday. The system shutdown and restarted.... all Internet was down for 20 minuties while this occured. Also, happened right before a big storm came through.. impacted operations' ability to send alert emails.

Sounds odd... when you use url filter without decryption then the url filter can only look at the CN part of the certs passing through. This will also mean that the identified application will most likely just be "ssl" (and "web-browsing" for the cleartext stuff). If you enable decryption then the real appid (lets say youtube or whatever) will be identified and the full url will be logged (and handled by the filters) aswell.

Extensions and Internet security software that block advertising or other unwanted content can cause problems loading webpage content" I can attest that noscript on FF, preventing scripts/ads to load can slow down and even prevent page load. Just a thought. EDIT: This link (at StackOverflow) provides more discussion of Blocking vs NON-Blocking Advertisments. You may find that blocking some Ad sources are generally problematic; and blocking ads in general for certain sites to be problematic given the above considerations. http://bit.ly/qhHtQz
