@BPry : yes, I used CLI to roll back the certificate applied on SSL\TLs profile and gained access back to GUI for t-shoot. @Bailey69 : webserver servcie is used by management GUI of PA firewall , so I think it shouldnt stop. Anyway I figured out the issue. It was because there was key mismatch (b/w private key on PA while CSR was geenrated and the public one on uplaoded certificate ). There was a mistake from the team who generated certificate. Issue resolved after regenerating CSR and uploading new certificate for SSL\TLS profile. Any how, I was surprised to find the such an issue with certificate will kill/stop the webserver process on the Palo Alto box itself.

Noted. But in either approach do I have to generate CSR for the passive firewall (passive firewall CNAME) in active firewall? Because if I generate CSR in passive firewall and commit changes (any changes) from active firewall, the pending CSR in passive firewall vanishes. Is it like one is not supposed to generate CSRs in passive firewalls at all?

Also, I have the active peer already installed with proper certificate. The requirement is only to install in passive peer. Can I generate a CSR in active peer with common name (IP) of passive peer , get it signed & installed in active peer and then manually exported along with private key to passive peer?

Noted. Once the CSR is generated with Common name of active and SAN (hostname of passive) in the active peer and certificate is signed, how to export/install it in passive peer? Will the CSR generated and certificate installed in active peer get pushed to passive peer when we commit?

There is an active passive pair having SSL certificate (management only) with different CNAMES (its own management IP). While the CSR generation and certificate import (signed by ECA) is successful on active peer, the CSR generated on passive peer is getting erased whenever commit is done from active peer. How to generate CSR and install SSL certificate on passive peer?

I have an active passive pair: PAN01- Passive , device priority 50, Preempt- disabled PAN02- Active, device priority 40, Preempt- disabled Now I wanted to switch the priority i.e. to make PAN01 active and PAN02 passive. I changed the priority on PAN02 to 60 and committed configuration, but it remained active and PAN01 remained passive. I had to suspend PAN02 and make it functional back, to achieve my goal. Then only PAN01 became active and PAN02 became passive. Isn't it supposed to change modes as soon as I change priority and commit? Or does this behavior has anything to do with preempt being disabled.
