Also very interested to know more about that 2050 QoS performance. For example, I have a site running with QoS enabled, but set to maximum of 1000. We just wanted the visibility into the traffic not to actual enforce any QoS restrictions. Based on that, would I actually only get 100MB or so of throughput?

Those numbers are extremely low, especially considering the PA-200 is supposed to be a 100MB throughput appliance. I do know that partners here are positioning the PA-500 into environments that have over 100 users, and the PA-200 would be considered for a number of schools that would have no more than 10-20MB Internet connections. Are there any actual internal performance figures, or even site using this with real world numbers?

So the question was: "What number is generally agreed upon to calculate how many connections are actually used per user?" Is there therefore a generally agreed figure for the average connection per second, to establish the actual number of users that would be acceptable to have behind a PA-200?

The specifications for the PA-200 show a CPS ( connections per second ) of 1000. What number is generally agreed upon to calculate how many connections are actually used per user? I've previously been told 50, which means all of 20 users being active at any one time? Would this calculation be correct, or has real world use come up with a different figure?

Hi All, I have a system, running 4.0.5 ( about to be .6 ) in TAP mode at a PoC site. They run Lotus notes, with one server platform, but two different types of clients. We are getting a lot of unknown-TCP, which is actually going to the notes server, and on the notes port, so likely to be notes. Any reason why it wouldn't actually be detected as such?

With user roles, Admin Roles, vsys access profiles, are access domains still relevant? Where would I use them over the other methods?

Hi All, I'm trying to create a role based user, that is specific to a vsys. when creating a user when logged in as the superuser, I can't create a user, and select the RoleBased profile that is based on a vsys, as the ok button grey's out. Is there a step that i'm missing here?

Hi All, I heard that its possible to have a vsys with a different PAN-OS that the others, to do such things as test the PAN-OS upgrade out with rules, etc before applying it across the board to all. What I can't see in the appliance UI, is how to do this, if its in fact possible. Can anyone confirm, or deny, this can actually be done, and if so how.

Hi All, Can I, in a system that is NOT running multiple vsys, restrict the information that can be accessed, seen etc within the ACC, monitor tab etc. Like a pre-applied data filter is overlaying the entire use? For example, having a login that is for the head of a division, such as marketing, and when that use logs in, the only information displaying within the ACC, is made up of information that applies to marketing, as the filter for the marketing user is based on a marketing Security Zone? Similar in the Monitor->logs tab, in that the realtime information that is visiblity through the various logs windows ( traffic, threat etc ) is only that to do with the Marketing Security zone? I can see there is ability to load a pre-defined data filter, but this I assume relies on the user applying this, where I would like to have this pre-applied. Possible?

The IT Network, used for management of all critical systems, will not have any external access, neither inbound or outbound. What I really need, is for the pairs to sync all data, not just parts of it.

Both appliances are licensed, but the management interfaces for both are on a locked down IT only network. So the updates are occuring by another active interface, which isn't active on the passive appliance. As there is no available peer sync, can I do this manually? And if not, what is the overall effect on URL checking performance when the backup pair comes online and is so out of date on its local database that it has to use Dynamic lookup?
