The WF-500 Appliance has somewhat similar OS command line structure and boot menu as other Palo Alto devices. Thus, there would be a 'main' option upon boot up. These steps would help with resetting the device to factory settings : Steps: Connect the preconfigured DB-9 serial port connection cable to the portable workstation. Connect the opposite end of the DB-9 serial port connection cable to the serial port of the WF-500 appliance. Launch the preinstalled SSH software or terminal emulation application on the portable workstation and confirm there is a login prompt on screen. (A few space bar keystrokes may be necessary). Press the ‘reset’ button below the power button to reboot the device. Monitor the SSH session for the bootstrap process and ready for the option to enter ‘maint’ mode. Type ‘maint’ at the prompt to inter in to the maintenance mode. Select the “Factory Restore” option from the menu to restore the appliance. Reboot the device after the restore is complete. Disconnect the serial DB-9 serial cable connection. Thanks, Steven-J

A customer asked the following about in reference to threat ID 34267, since there's not much in details in the PA Threat Vault DB. Questions: 1. Will this signature trigger an alert for http-req-uri-path-length greater than 2000 with a GET qualifier? 2. Has there ever been any modifications to this signature since the length set within the signature seems to be a little antiquated? Any additional information provided regarding this signature would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. SJ

Using a Email Server Profile a customer would like to get reports on sslvpn events only' via email server profile. He's already getting emails for WebUI and CLI events from admins on a 'Config Log Format'. What I have discovered is, he can possibly get sslvpn events from the 'System log Format' if the values for 'subtype' is listed. However, it appears that the subtype also list other values as well: crypto, dhcp, dnsproxy, dos, general, global-protect, ha, hw, nat, ntpd, pbf, port, pppoe, ras, routing, satd, sslmgr, userid, url-filtering, vpn. Is there any possible way to get only the events from the sslvpn, or is this all or nothing? Thank you in advance for your comments and input.
