Thanks, I don't plan to add hardware later, I am basically looking for information on cores versus Mhz for low throughput (100Mb/sec) / high application count (internet gateway).

Hardik, Can you explain how this KVM VM is licensed, is it the same as ESX: "The authcode is tied to the Universally Unique ID (UUID). If the firewall is cloned, the UUID will change and the license will become invalid. Moving the firewall from one host to another will not change the UUID (only the CPUID) and therefore the license will remain valid." If it is then moving it should not require relicensing. Hi, Say I have a KVM VM-100 (using SR-IOV) that I want to push 100Mbps of internet traffic through it, say you have 8 physical cores and for this VM-100 you choose to allocate 2400Mhz to it's VM, is it best to reserve: 2 cores at 1200Mhz 3 cores at 800Mhz 4 cores at 600Mhz Or just setup X cores with no reservation and let the hypervisor adjust based on the load on the CPU from other VMs. The aim is to give a consistent performance to the VM-100 and to limit any additional latency caused by a busy CPU. So are cores more important than Mhz, I was thinking that because you probably have significant latency caused by AppID on virtual hardware, more cores might allow more AppID detections to take place? For iSCSI, I would be using an application override, essentially fast-pathing it which is what you would want to do with low-latency traffic. The CNSE Study Guide page 34 gives the config steps.

Hi all, Certificates, can anybody help? I have a cert syslog-ng.cert that ArcSight logger auto-generated and I want to import this on to the firewall as a "Certificate for Secure SYSLOG" It imports OK as Base64 encoded PEM f ormat, with the option to import a private key disabled (if I choose this I need to give a Key File or a Passphrase...which I don't have). But once the valid cert is loaded I do not have the option to make it a "Certificate for Secure SYSLOG". Something must be missing from syslog-ng.cert, Logger has openssl installed so if I could figure out the syntax to produce a key that the firewall will be happy to use for SYSLOG. Thanks for looking. Thanks HULK, I can't see anything like SSL/TLS/Encrypted options under the Logger Receivers section... Looks like Splunk supports it: How to get tcp-ssl input for Splunk 6.0 to work - Splunk Community EDITED to remove reference to SmartConnectors as i'm not sure it's relevant.

Hi, Just checking this will work: users---[switch]---[a/p ha pa500's]---[switch]---ntu So the service provider requires a PPPoE client to use the link. The SP only allows one port on the NTU to be used and only supports a single PPPoE session. Can the PA500's in A/P HA happily maintain this PPPoE session? Thanks. Richard

Hi, I had GP working from my Mac yesterday evening but today it's failing with "Assign private IP address failed" in the logs when trying to login with the same local user as yesterday, I haven't changed anything but I am suspicious it might have something to do with me setting only one simultaneous connection?
