I got it working. I found another document on the Community where someone had the same problem. Turned out my firewall was blocking some of the sites needed to retrieve software. I created a temporary rule to allow this and re-ran the install script.

After installing Ubuntu 20.04.06 LTS and running the install script it does not look like there is a web server running on the box. When I look at active ports on the box there is no 443.

We are attempting to internal load balance a pair of VM firewalls in Azure. The firewalls work when traffic is sent directly to the firewalls. But when the Azure internal load balancer is added into the mix no traffic hits the firewall. I have searched all over the Palo web sites, the live community and Internet, but have not found instructions on how to configure this. I see references to NATs, sandwiches, lots of public load balance scenarios, but nothing I have been able to use. We have a third part contractor configuring Azure, as this is new to us. They are also stumped. I have a support case open with Palo but have not been able to get an engineer assigned to it. Thanks for any help.

I did extract the file. I discovered that the nightly "Scheduled Config Export" that we do actually backs up Panorama and every firewall managed by Panorama. I found the Panorama configuration in the list of extracted files.
I did the import and the load. This got Panorama back up and working.
However, one item that was not working was log collection. After much research and Palo support conversations I discovered that the config export does not contain the Panorama / Collector Group / Device Log Forwarding / Log Forwarding Preferences / Devices. I had to manually enter these and do a commit/push of the Collector Group. How do I restore Panorama configuration?
I do a "Scheduled Config Export" every night.
Old Panorama VM had to be rebuilt from scratch. No access to old VM.
I have rebuilt the VM from OVA. When I try to "Import name Panorama configuration snapshot" per restore documents I get an error that the file is not an .xml.
What is the procedure to use the .tgz file created by the export?
