Hi, We are not decrypting the traffic. Checked the logs and we don't see anything, no other apps, etc. It's very odd! I just don't know why it would work when using destination address objects but not when using objects in a URL category...

We are doing some testing with a user that is running a client and needs to get out to the internet. 1. We have a policy for testing and added the required FQDN address objects to the destination. This was successful. 2. Next, we removed the address objects from the destination (replaced that with "any") and moved them to be part of an existing URL category group. We then added this URL category group to the testing policy. This has worked for us when testing in the past, but does not work now. Why would something work when added as an address object but not when it's part of a URL category group? Am I missing something? Thank you!

I'm taking on the task of setting up SNMPv3 on a firewall but will be starting from scratch with no tools, programs, scripts, etc. in place so I have a lot of flexibility (and also a lot of work ahead). I won't be doing traps but mostly looking at CPU and interface traffic. I would like to know what programs, etc. others are using so I can get an idea of what works well with Palo and where to begin. We were experiencing what I believe is the same problem a couple months ago. We upgraded to 7.1.18 and that fixed the problem (after contacting support). I know you mentioned you couldn't upgrade to 8 yet, but I wanted to mention our fix in case you were able to do a smaller upgrade.

Hello, I'm trying to create a Rest API URL to check the CPU utilization on my management and data planes and create a report to monitor over time. Using commands like show running resource-monitor did not give me exactly what I was looking for. I used the <firewall ip>/debug and got the following XML: <response status="success"> <status> <stats> <mp-cpu-utilization>8</mp-cpu-utilization> <dp-cpu-utilization>17</dp-cpu-utilization> </stats> </status> </response> I'm having problems getting it into Rest API URL format and wanted to see if someone more experienced with this could help. I'm having some issues generating PDF reports in Panorama and after Google didn't help me, I thought it would be worth asking here. We've created some custom reports in the past, had PDF summaries generated, and the reports get sent out on a regular basis with no issues. We followed our usual steps to create the reports described below. Yesterday, we created two new custom reports and generated PDF summaries for those. The reports are simple and one only counts traffic that hits two security policies. When the report was emailed to us, it said "No matching data found". The other report monitors threat traffic. When it arrived the count was completely off and significantly lower than the actual numbers. Both reports are for data from the last 7 days and the "Scheduled" box is checked. Does anyone have any insight on what could be causing this? Thank you!

We do block all critical events already, just trying to get a better idea of some things and using a policy for it. I appreciate the help. I think my only option is creating two separate rules.

Hi, I'm trying to create a security policy that would block all critical traffic from source zone "A", to destination zone "B". However, I want to allow traffic from a specific IP in zone "A". How can I make an exception to allow that IP? I assume I could create a policy to allow that IP and then one below it block traffic from that zone but I would prefer not to do that- feel like it could be error prone, etc. Thank you!
