Hi All, I have received an Alert for SSL Renegotiation Denial of Service Vulnerability. I have visited the website, and for some reason, Palo Alto thinks i am the attacker, and the website i am visiting is the victim. I have attached screen shots of this issue, please help me in understanding this issue/threat. I am not sure how to treat it and why Palo Alto will Alert me. Cheers Bhavin

Hi, PaloAlto being the next generation layer 7 inclusive firewall, it should be able to pickup on adult content (for example) through a translated page. i would like to bring to your attention, that other proxy's like websense can detect malicious activity through a translated page. is this a bug in the way PaloAlto inspects ? cause if adult category is blocked, and translation category is allowed, ideally one shouldnt be able to tunnel blocked categories through an allowed one... doesnt make much sense 😞 cheers Bhav

Hi, I just came across something quite interesting. A user needs to be able to translate a decent url, but by default translation is blocked by PaloAlto. Once you configure PaloAlto to allow translation, you can actually go into google translate, and translate an adult website into another language and view it within Google translate's page. My question is, i have blocked adult-and-pornography, why can i get to a dirty website, shouldn't palo pick that up. please advice, as one of the users needs translation allowed, but what i explained above is just one of the exploit... cheers Bhavin

Hi mrajdev, thanks for the response, i am afraid the usernames are part of the domain and unfortunately, in our environment, non-domained usernames are not permitted, is there any other solutions ? i was thinking of ignoring the admin ad users on pan-agent and use the sys admins ip addresses in the policies, not a very smart solution, but am still in search of a better solution to this problem. Hi, I am having problems downloading ms updates, as i have configured policies allowing users out going to microsoft, but when responding with updates, microsoft seems to be using som other websites, which seems to get blocked on the way back in, as the original destination (microsoft) has changed to some other site. is there anyway to fix this, i have attached a screenshot of the error. note, the drops are from outside, coming to inside (the response to a users download request from microsoft). Hi Bryan, Thank you for your response. I have now tried this with firefox and works a treat, my only problem is, when i use internet explorer, it opens the exe file in the browser. i have attached a screen shot of what the internet explorer does when i click continue to download putty.exe... Has any testing been done with Internet explorer, or is there some sort of setting in the internet explorer that i need to do for allowing the continue page... our company uses Internet Explorer as a standard browser, hence i dont have a choice but to make it work like it does on firefox... cheers Bhav
