Today, November 30, is Computer Security Day in the U.S., and a great excuse to focus on device security. Every day, computers become faster and more advanced — and the need for increased security measures to protect against bad actors increases.
Did you know that this day has been recognized for over 30 years? National Computer Security Day has been observed since 1988, after a cyberattack on ARPANET — a predecessor to today’s Internet — that harmed as many as 10% of all connected computers.
The LIVEcommunity team at Palo Alto Networks sends a shout out to all of you who keep organizations, groups, businesses and individuals safe from bad actors wishing to exploit vulnerabilities and cause harm!
Computer Security Day provides the perfect reminder! It is also important to review your computer’s security on a regular basis. Use the checklist below to secure your computer. If you use social media, it is also a good time to review your settings. Social media is another way identity thieves, viruses, and computer fraud is committed.
Thanks again to all of you in the cybersecurity field on this Computer Security Day!
