sudo su - set to no password required.

i am able to get the logon screen for expedition, however when i log in i get Incorrect user or password.

 

I know the userid and password,

 

getting following error. 

 

using 20.04.1-Ubuntu -Linux

 

#mysq   i get the following message.
ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)

 

 

please advise if a password needs to be set and how to do it.
