COMMIT FAILED

L0 Member

Hi everyone,

When I commit on my device, I get the following error "virus_update_block"

Has anyone had this error before or can anyone help me resolve it?

Thanks.

Hi @TinaztepeLisans ,

This error is seen in relation to PAN-124858.

Are you running PAN-OS version prior to 9.0.6 ?

Lower end firewall models have less memory allocated towards CTD content on the dataplane.

Over time after multiple content installs the available memory can become fragmented leaving less usable memory available.

An update in PanOS 9.0.6 was added to expand the available CTD memory: PanOS 9.0 Release Notes

PAN-124858:  Fixed an issue on PA-220, PA-820, and PA-850 firewalls where Custom Signatures caused the CTD memory depletion (OOM), which led to a dataplane crash.

NOTE: this update is also included in the base PanOS 9.1 and 10.0 software releases.

Resolution is to upgrade to PanOS 9.0.6 or higher release.

Kind regards,

-Kim.

Hi @TinaztepeLisans ,

It might seem obvious but do you have enough free disk space to download the file ?

What hardware are we talking about and which PAN-OS version is it currently running ?

Kind regards,

-Kim.
