We have two VM Palo Alto's running in HA and we got these alerts:
Would anyone know how I can setup the HA backup on VM's?

unfortunately you can't
i think the reasoning is that ha1 is happening 'inside' the hypervisor so redundancy is useless
have you been able to find what caused this split brain ?

Configure one of dataplane interfaces in HA mode.
