Multicast Bidirectionel Support

Hello everyone,

Does PaloAlto currently support multicast bidirectional?

As of 2019, it seems that the above is not supported.

Good Day

I think the answer is still the same.  We are not privy to the roadmap of features/functionality.

It is best to work with your local PANW SE (Domain Consultant is the new term I believe) and they can assist to open a Feature Request ticket for Product Management to see if there are enough interested customers to warrant the feature.

Thank you.

Hello S.Cantwell-san,

Thank you for your response.

I understand that multicast bidirectional is not currently supported.

Hello S.Cantwell-san,

Sorry, Just an additional question.
Does this mean that bidirectional PIM is not supported?

I understand that bidirectional multicast means that a device can be both a sender and a listener, but does PaloAlto support multicast communication in which a single device can be both a sender and a listener in PIM-SM?
