China users facing issue connecting to Prisma Gateways

L0 Member

Users from China Location are not able to connect to Prisma Gateways ( Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, etc) since last few weeks.

Any other customer facing similar issue?

Better open a case but it is time Palo Alto to make a web site that is publicly available where they can publish known Prisma Access location related issues (Palo Alto only has this web site for blocked URL https://docs.paloaltonetworks.com/prisma/prisma-access/prisma-access-panorama-admin/prisma-access-fo... but no public url when issues are seen in a Prisma Access location ) but as China's Data Centers aren't managed Palo Alto  but a China company (Palo Alto uses AWS or Google cloud but for China another China based company is needed) things like your issue can happen 😑

Also keep in mind that China government does not like China users using gateways in Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, etc , so maybe their "Great Firewall" has stopped this so be carefull 🙂

It depends on how some of the ISP's in mainland China route the Prisma gateway destination traffic. It may or may not get blocked by great firewalls periodically or altogether one day. It is advised by Prisma Sase team to setup local mainland China gateways to prevent such issues (we went with this approach for our setup).

Palo Alto seems to have a status pages for detected issues in their data centers so my mistake:

https://status.paloaltonetworks.com/

https://sase.status.paloaltonetworks.com/

Any update about this and if you found the issue @ab00562677 ?
