Installing IronSkillet and Panhandler without using Docker

L0 Member

Hi, I'm an intern tasked with scripting an automation to retrieve data from the firewall to ascertain whether it complies with the CIS Benchmark. I believe that the IronSkillet and Panhandler are the key to my answer.

However, as an intern, I do not have the clearance required to use Docker nor a VM to install and use them. Is there currently any way for me to proceed without the use of Docker? I'm currently using Windows 10 Enterprise as my OS and I don't think my company has bought any tools for vulnerability scanning.

I've tried to seek a raise in security access but have been declined.

Hello,

If you are only looking at the current config and how it applies to a benchmark, etc. Palo Alto does have its best practice analyzer tool: https://live.paloaltonetworks.com/t5/best-practice-assessment/ct-p/Best_Practice_Assessment . I think CIS may also have its own tool, but not sure on that since there are a few out there. Also DISA has a Scap Scanner Tool that can check against DISA STIG's, ie what the government wants as far as compliance etc.

Regards,
