Help moving a Palo VM to another Azure region

L0 Member

Hi all, so I made a boneheaded move and set up our Palo VM in US East when I should have done it in US East 2. I'm trying to use the Azure Resource Mover tool to move it to a resource in US East 2, but it keeps failing at the "Prepare" stage. The error it's giving me is related to the Azure Site Recovery Agent on the Palo VM. I have no idea what this agent does and why the VM can't just be copied over. The Palo isn't in production, but I don't really want to configure the entire thing from scratch again.

This is the error the Azure move operation fails on:

RMSSiteRecoveryOperationFailed
The site recovery operation failed with the error Task execution has timed out while tracking for extension operation to be started..
Possible Causes: Extension operation is not started by Azure VM agent..
Recommended Action:
1. Check the site recovery extension status on the VM and retry the operation.
2. For a VM running Windows OS, try restarting Windows Azure guest agent service in the VM.
For a VM running Linux OS, try restarting Linux Azure guest agent service and ensure that the agent version is at-least 2.1.5.
3. For a VM running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, ensure that Python is installed
