I've worked with 7.0 daily for well over a year and have recently started with 7.1. I bought a 220 which I partly justified for using to study for the PCNSE. While I'm aware of some of the many enhancements in 8.0, they really haven't surfaced or otherwise made themselves obviously known while working on the 220. In fact, I'm finding the transition from 7.0 to 7.1 to be more of a challenge. that said, in addition to my experience, I've also been through 201, 205 and 311. I just lack the official Panorama training, which reared its ugly head when I got 2 Panorama-related questions wrong on the offical practice test. Other than that, though, I did pass, so I'm taking that as a sign and plan on going for the PCNSE within the next week, pending completing some other online training I opted for. but long story short, I concur, I think using 8 would be fine to study for PCNSE7
