L7 Applicator

Greetings programs,

If you use Stream Control Transmission Protocol inside your network security policy, there are some changes happening that you may want to be aware of.

There are 13 SS7 applications that are going to become obsolete, while improving 4 other SCTP-related apps (diameter-over-sctp, m3ua, sua, s1ap)

These changes will provide better security, granularity, and visibility into these protocols.

These changes are scheduled to occur with the Apps and Threats dynamic updates for 15 May 2018.

In case you don't know what SCTP is, it stands for Stream Control Transmission Protocol and it is a reliable, message-based transport protocol normally used in mobile networks to transport signaling traffic on various interfaces.
