ASA to PALO Migration xml file comes back with just the base config

L1 Bithead

When i used the expedition tool to merge the asa config and base config from palo.

The tool keeps saying pending untill it finally times out .

When i log in again the merge file says ready.

But when i download it , it has nothing but the base config and nothing new was merged to it.

In the lower right hand corner there is a 'Merge' button. Did you click on that?

A merge is needed to write the merged configurations into the base config.

Yes thats what i meant when i click the merge button , it stays in pending mode for a real long time.

And then the tool times out and i have to login again.

When i login again the status says ready amd when i downaload the new generated xml , it has nothing but the base config i uploaded. So basically it is not merging anything.

Is there a size limit to how much config it can merge or something like that ?

Make sure you have the latest version installed and you have done everything to increase the resources.  Also, when Expedition merge freezes, open it in a second browser and make sure the service hasn't stopped.  If so, then re-start it and your merge will complete.

if you have not already done so edit the settings in the file below:

PHP:

Edit the parameters from php.ini located at:

sudo vi /etc/php/7.0/apache2/php.ini

Modify:

post_max_size = 250M

upload_max_filesize = 250M

restart the Apache with

sudo systemctl restart apache2

Thanks bagherib and sjanita , i will try that and update the forum.
