can any not MGMT interface be configured as the Management interface

L0 Member

I need to connect my 3410 upstream toward a remote panorama. I need to use a fiber interface but the 3410 only has a copper interface for MGMT. Can I select any other interface declare it to be "Management" as the management interface and install a fiber SFP into it

Hi @tomdeevy ,

Not only can you make any other interface a management interface, you can also manage the NGFW from one of you data interfaces so that you don't have to run a dedicated management cable.

  1. Create an Interface Management Profile.
  2. Allow HTTPS and SSH.
  3. Apply it to the interface.
  4. Change the service routes to use the new interface for all services.
