Device Security license

Hello everyone,

I have an active Precision AI Network Security Subscription Renewal Bundle for a firewall. However, when I log in to the Customer Support Portal and navigate to Products > Assets, then select the firewall, I do not see a Device Security license listed.

I found the following document, which mentions Device Security:

The document states:

When using Device Security Subscription, which stores data in Strata Logging Service, you need one Strata Logging Service license per account. When using Device Security, Doesn't Require Data Lake Subscription, you do not need a Strata Logging Service license. Device Security X does not require associating Strata Logging Service with the license, although you can still choose to store logs in Strata Logging Service if it is associated with your Device Security X TSGs and firewalls.

I have the following questions:

1. Is it mandatory to purchase and activate a Strata Logging Service license in order to use Device Security?

2. Are there any prerequisite requirements, such as specific licenses, PAN-OS versions, or firewall hardware models, that must be met before the Device Security feature can be used?

you do not need a Strata Logging Service license to be able to use the Device Security feature, you do need to activate this feature on your the HUB tenant.

You should have received an activation email to get this activation started. if you didn't, try going to your support portal and at the top left click into 'activate product'. This should also allow you to deploy the Device Security license.
