DHCP Server Reserve a long list of IP addresses

L1 Bithead

Hi everyone,

I have a list with more than 50 mac addresses, I want to configure PA DHCP Server to reserve IP addresses to these MAC addresses, is there an easy way to make reservation instead of enter these 50+ records one-by-one?  Thanks.

Regards,

Daniel

Why are you trying to make 50 reservations?

If it is to identify these hosts, would user-ID be a better alternative

(There's no easy way to add 50 reservations)

@DanielKng,

As @reaper mentioned this isn't something that is really easily done. Regardless of how you do it (API,XML,CLI,GUI) you'll essentially be doing the same amount of work regardless.

Hi @BPry,

Not sure you have the links on how to use the XML or CLI to do the import the list?  These machines are to be used by different students everyday, so mapping with user-id may not possible.

Daniel

Hi @reaper ,

Thanks for the reply, these are the workstations used by different students everyday, mapping with user-id may not be possible.

@DanielKng  could you elaborate on the use-case?

User-ID is almost always an option 🙂 (there's captive portal, for example)

There's also global protect with machine certificates, to identify a host rather than a user
