Hello, we are going to connect our PA-850 firewalls with FortiGate-300D firewalls via multi-mode fiber cables and will most likely be using PAN-SFP-SX for the cable connectivity.
1) I see that the specification sheet mentions only OM2 multi-mode fiber cables but OM3 is typically used nowadays. Can OM3 multi-mode fiber cables be used in our scenario?
2) Are the PA-850 firewalls using LED or laser emitters?
Thanks.

OM3 is fine to use as long as you are under the supported distance.
Generally, multi-mode SFPs use LED for the light source but I don't know for a fact that the PAN-SFP-SX does.

Thanks a lot for that. I guess it should be safe to assume that, when both ends use the same standards (for example 1000base-sx), then we should not need to be concerned with interoperability among different product brands.
