Globalprotect 3.1.1 compatibility with PAN-OS 6.1.12

L4 Transporter

From the release notes for Globalprotect agent 3.1.1:

Minimum supported version

PAN‐OS 6.1 and later releases for GlobalProtect gateways
PAN‐OS 7.1 for GlobalProtect portals

We're on PAN-OS 6.1.12 and have portal and gateway on the same device. Does that mean we can not upgrade to Globalprotect agent 3.1.1 ?

Yes, this is correct
you would first need to upgrade your firewall to PAN-OS 7.1 before being able to succesfully deploy GlobalProtect Agent 3.1.1

I believe that @reaper may be able to confirm, but I seem to recall a discussion taking place that said that this was true. The latest GlobalProtect releases you needed to be running a portal on 7.1 for it to function correctly.
