How to upgrade a virtual panorama server from 7.1.16 to 9.x

L2 Linker

Hi,

I would like to upgrade a virtual panorama server from 7.1.16 to 9.x which has all Firewall logs and ACC reports. I read about log migration and Panorama mode change should also be part of this upgrade. I have never done a similar kind of upgrade and need help.

Does anyone have any document or experience like this kind of upgrade?

Your upgrade path would essentially be this.

7.1.16 - 7.1.24 (Download, install, and restart)

7.1.24 - 8.0.0 (Download, install)

8.0.0 - 8.0.19 (Download, install, and restart)

- Here you will need to migrate your logs to the new format; and it will take a bit of time to actually finish.

8.0.19 - 8.1.0 (Download, install)

8.1.0 - 8.1.9 (Download, install, restart)

8.1.9 - 9.0.0 (Download, install)

9.0.0 - 9.1.2/3 (Download, Install, Restart)

- Here again the log format changes and migration can take a bit of time to finalize.

Keep in mind

Thanks for the detailed info. I really appreciate.

Do I need to do anything to change from Legacy mode to panorama mode? is it a mandatory process to follow or an optional thing?
