PAN-OS 8.0.2 URL logs not showing up

L1 Bithead

Hi guys,

I'm running a new PA-VM-50 on 8.0.2 within Esxi.  The VM is fully licensed and has all the latest dynamic updates and URL filtering db.

VM License - VM-50
VM Mode - VMWare ESXi
Software Version- 8.0.2
GlobalProtect Agent - 0.0.0
Application Version -701-4036 (05/18/17)
Threat Version - 701-4036 (05/18/17)
Antivirus Version - 2247-2734 (05/18/17)
WildFire Version - 140976-142481 (05/18/17)
URL Filtering Version - 20170518.40117
GlobalProtect Clientless VPN Version - 63-78 (05/15/17)

I've got all the basic configuration set-up and have a couple of VM's running windows/chrome ect which have access to the internet through the Palo. The issue im having is no matter what I configure I never see and URL filtering logs. Normal traffic logs and threat logs are working fine! Orginally I cloned the default URL filtering profile and added that to the security policy but part of troubleshooting I've replaced the profile with the default URL profile. Is there something new in PAN-OS 8.0 that I'm not aware of?

Thanks

What is your action in the URL filtering profile? Can you change it to "alert", please

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

In my custom URL category all allowed categories are set to alert as the default profile can't be modified.

Well thats what I thought anyway! As you can see in PAN-OS 8.0 there are two columns now! I've been so used to using older version of PAN-OS I didnt even notice the colum on the right is for "Users Credential Submission"

I have now set the "Site Access" Column to alert. Thanks to you I re-visted the custom profile and all working!
