QoS bypass traffic and guaranteed egress bandwidth

L0 Member

Hi all.  I am new to QoS and I am unsure where this number is coming from in the Qos statistics for bypass-traffic for guaranteed egress.  Thanks.  Brent

Hello,

The guarantee is the amount the firewall will give that traffic when the resources are constrained, e.g. pipe is full.

https://docs.paloaltonetworks.com/pan-os/8-0/pan-os-admin/quality-of-service/qos-overview.html

Bypass traffic is traffic that the PAN doesnt have an APP-ID for so it cannot apply QoS to it.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, that gives me part of my problem.  Now can anybody tell me where it got that number from?  I don't want it to guarantee 50mb and can't seem to find how/where it got that number.  The only place I've defined that number is the max egress for the interface.

Thanks again.
