Traffic Problem when going from Layer 3 to Layer 2 configuration in a VWire PA Deployment

L1 Bithead

Hi,

So our current use case is like we have GW Router -> Switch -> PA in Vwire -> Switch. The downstream switch is connect via native VLAN 1 to PA while upstream switch interface is in Vlan 10 in a L3 deployment. Now we want to move this deployment to complete L2, we did that by putting all interfaces in same VLAN 10 but what happened is that we had a partial traffic breakdown, we checked on GW router and it was not getting ARP, there were multiple ARP incomplete entries. we restarted all the other devices apart from PA, nothing happened. We bypassed PA and all traffic was working again. In the end we had to switch back to previous scenario due to limited maintenance window. After switching traffic was normal again, we also put upstream switch in native vlan bt nothing happened

Can someone shed a light why this behavior might have happened ?
