URL filtering issue, choosing to continue onto a blocked site allows all sites that falls into the same category.

We have a continue action set to all our categories for URL filtering but I just noticed when trying out new templates (I modified and translated the "web page blocked" text to swedish), that if I go to a site like "porn.com" I get the option to continue as it should and it works fine but if I, after having clicked continue, go to other sites that fall under the same URL filter category then I´m allowed to go straight to thoses sites without warning or anything just because I clicked continue on the first site that was "blocked".

I thought the action to continue only applied for the site you tried to visit and not all sites that falls under the same category.

Is it possible to get warnings per site and category and not allow all sites in the same category just by clicking continue once?

Regards

Daniel

sounds like it is working as it should as it is based on url category. I do not believe it is possible to do it down to a single url site

Hi Bollnas,

Its an expected behavior, infact it will not prompt for continue for any website falls into same category until time out. Please refer following document.

Difference Between Block-Continue and Continue in URL Filtering Logs

Daniel,

From what I can see you could turn the URL continue timeout from the default of 15 minutes down to 1 minute.   The intention is to apply the setting at the category level so that presents a challenge for what you are doing.  If the click to continue is worded properly then the user is acknowledging that accessing sites that fall into that category may be non work related or inappropriate.  The other option is to set up a Custom URL category with a click to continue and populate it with the specific sites. (not sure if this would fit your situation)

Hope this helps?
