Upgrading 10.1.11-h5 to 11.1.2 directly ?

L1 Bithead

We have acquired 14XX series firewall for one of our locations, currently running Panorama version is10.1.11-h5 (VM-mode -Microsoft Azure, VM-100, system mode-panorama).
This firewall 14xx is only compatible with 11. prior adding 14xx firewall, we must upgrade panorama to 11.

we have determined that upgrading panorama to 11.1.2 is preferred option (though we considered 11.0.3, but it reaches end of life in November 2024).

1) Recently I have heard about skip software version upgrade, I wanted clarification on whether any configuration settings need adjustment for direct upgrade panorama from 10.1.11-h5 directly to 11.1.2.

or can we also follow old method?

10.1.11-h5 >10.2.0(download only)>10.2.8-h3 >11.0.0(download only)>11.0.3-h5 >11.1.0(download)>11.1.2

2) Currently panorama is having 16 CPU/57 GB RAM - would this be sufficient for the upgrade?  Also, as per below snip, it says increase the memory to 64 GB.

3) I am referring below document to upgrade panorama, is this the correct one? or is there any other step which I should follow.

1) the 'old' methodology will still work (one step at a time) but starting 10.1 you can immediately upgrade to 11.1 without the steps in between (whichever you feel most comfortable with). nothing needs to be changed for this to work

2) it's recommended to have 64gb RAM :Setup Prerequisites for the Panorama Virtual Appliance (paloaltonetworks.com)

3) Determine the Upgrade Path to PAN-OS 11.1 (paloaltonetworks.com)
