migration local vm to panarom vm

L3 Networker

Hi Team, We are migrating our VM firewall from one environment managed locally to another environment managed by Panaroma. So there would be another team that would add a new firewall, license it in Panaroma, and hand it over to us. In this migration, I think we need to perform the below steps. Could you please suggest them or let me know if anything is missing?

>Copy the configuration from the old firewall.

>Paste the configuration on the new firewall. As the public IP gets changed, we need to replace the new public IP with the old

>When do we have to create a group policy and template? Can we create later?

your first  steps are good, you can simply copy over the config file and, after import, update the IP's accordingly

to add the devices to panorama, the other team can perform an 'import' into panorama which automatically creates the device group, template and template stack for your imported devices

If they then 'push config bundle' that will replace the device's entire configuration with 'panorama managed' config
