Error when editing Prefirewall Rules related to descriptions value

When attempting to edit prefirewall rules I am reciving the below error.

Message: Error returned from Palo Alto Backend status: 18, Message: Malformed Request.

If I remove the description tags from my xml the edit is succesful. The error is not very much help and I unable to determine what is in my descriptions that might be causing this. Can someone provide me with some advice on how to troubleshoot this further.

Update:

I determined this was caused by one of the descriptions in our rules containing an "&", I had to write logic to convert that to a "%26amp;" in order for the edit to complete succesfuly.
