Use XML API to export device state?

L2 Linker

I am trying to figure out how to use the XML API to export the device state.

Looking through the PAN-OS XML API document (PAN-OS and Panorama XML API Reference Guide 6.0), I found that I should use 'type=export&category=device-state'.  But I don't see how to specify which device-state file to export.  I also tried to browse through API browser but it shows no further options after I go through 'Export > device-state'.

Anybody have any experience with using the XML API to export the device state?  I'm obviously missing something, I just don't know what...

I don't know what I'm talking about, sorry...

There are no device-state files that get saved to the device.  When you send the request with 'type=export&category=device-state' it will respond with it's device_state_cfg.tgz
