How to create exception/Exclusions for BIOC analytics and XDR analytics alerts

L2 Linker

Hello Team ,

We are getting multiple alerts for BIOC analytics and XDR analytics right now as checked on console there is no option visible to add exception/exclusion for this alert.

Can some one please guide how we can create a exception/exclusion for this alert.

Cortex XDR

Thanks in advance !!

Hi @tejaspatil12, thanks for reaching us using the Live Community.

You can create an Alert Exception Rule, and configure there all the parameters required to filter those alerts that you don't consider a threat.

Go to Settings - Exceptions Configuration and add a new Alert Exclusion, set a descriptive name and apply all the required scope like in this example screenshot.

This will not create more alerts of this type in the XDR Console based on the rule you have configured. More info here: https://docs-cortex.paloaltonetworks.com/r/Cortex-XDR/Cortex-XDR-Pro-Administrator-Guide/Alert-Exclu...

You can also do a right click on the alert, in the alerts view, select Manage alert - Exclude Alert, and the exclusion is created using all the parameters from the generated alert (hosname, user, alert name, etc).
