Windows OS issues with Cortex XDR enabled

L1 Bithead

A technician is claiming that after downloading XDR 7.6.1, the Windows start menu is not working. If he disables XDR, it works again. If he enables XDR, it stops working again. Has anyone else seen or heard of similar issues?

Hi Pdysart,

It does not look like this is a known issue with agent version 7.6.

I recommend validating that the OS version on the effected host is supported by the 7.6 agent. See documentation Where Can I Install the Cortex XDR Agent?
If the OS is listed as supported under agent version 7.6 then I recommend opening a support case with PANW to investigate further.

Regards,

Ben

Hi Pdysart,

Was this perhaps happening on a HP computer, with the "HP Wolf Security" tool enabled?
I had exactly the same on a HP Zbook laptop. After stopping the HP Wolf Security tool all worked well.

Regards,

Frank
