Adding prefix or suffix to objects quit working

L2 Linker

In the middle of doing a migration of an ASA config and adding prefix/suffix to groups and objects. Did a round of them and it just quit displaying after that. I choose the objects I want to change, right-click and choose address group actions, address group names, add/replace suffix/prefix. It changes to the tools section but nothing is displayed in search results. This happens no matter how many objects I choose. The interesting thing is that normally when it works and you go back to the objects the filter is still set so you have to clear filters. Now that it is not working when I go back to the objects there are no filters set.

I have tried restarting the services and did an upgrade/reboot as one was available but still not working. It is also interesting to note that the problem does NOT exist on other projects.

Any help would be appreciated as I am rushing to get this migration done today.

Thanks.

Hello @aporue

So when you say you do an upgrade/reboot are you doing a linux upgrade? If so this should not be done as it can break things, if you are upgrading the expedition instance then that should be okay.

In this case you would want to perform a search/replace on the objects you would want to change the prefix/suffix on and they should be marked within the objects section and added to the search/replace function where they should still be displayed during that replacement process.

I want to make sure you are following that above process, if you need screenshots let me know.

I said upgrade but just meant the normal Expedition update.

It didn't matter if I did a search/replace or the process I was following the filters still were blank. I was at least partially able to fix it though. Even though there were no filters I went ahead and opened the filter dialog and clicked clear a few times. I was then able to follow the process of adding a suffix/prefix but when I chose anything more than the default 50 objects it exhibits the same problem but limit the objects to 50 and it works.

Hello @aporue

Go ahead and email me at fwmigrate@paloaltonetworks.com so i can take a look at what you are referring to.

I just emailed you.

thanks.

Not sure if you are receiving the emails but I tried twice and go delivery failure messages. Says something about my account/email being disabled. Tested email from that account to others and it works just fine. Just sent you an email from my personal account to see if that makes a difference.

Thanks,

Keith
