Migrate cluster PA-3020 configs to PA-1410

L1 Bithead

Hi,

I have to migrate a PA-3020 cluster in version 9.1.15-h1 (which is the latest version available for this old model) to a new PA-1410 cluster which, if I am not mistaken, only supports version 11.0.

I imagine that I will not be able to export and import the xml from one to the other and I will have to use Expedition.

Is this correct?

With Expedition will I be able to migrate 100% of the configuration even if it is from a 9.1.15-h1 version to a 11.0 version?

Regards.

@Alberto Fernandez  You should be able to export the running config from Pa-3020 and import it in PA-1410, don't need expedition.  If you encounter any issues, please open a TAC case with our support.

Hi Lychiang,

I thought that being different hardware and having that jump of versions, it would not be possible to export the configuration of the old one and import it into the new one.

Being a cluster, is it necessary to export the configuration of each member of the old cluster and import it into the new ones?

Regards.

@Alberto Fernandez Only the primary firewall config is needed.

Any feedback on this migration, did it work to export the config from 3020 and import it into 1410?

We're in a sort of similar situation, migration from PA-3220 to 1420

Yes, it should work , if you running to any issues, please open a TAC case with Palo Alto Networks support. thank you!
