AE interface showing higher bandwidth than physical interface

L0 Member

ae3 (3).JPGae3.198 (2).JPGThe physical link in the firewall shows lower bandwidth as compared to the aggregate link on the same. Referred the SNMP logs which capture the same, please refer to the screenshots attached and let me know if this an expected behavior or not?

Hi Rasood,

As per given info, ae3 & ae3.198 both are aggregated interfaces. Can you show me the graph of the actual physical interfaces like ethernet1/1 or ethernet1/2 etc.. generally grouping of two or more ethernet interfaces we can call aggregated interfaces AEx.....

Best Regards,

Sureshreddy

Hi @rasood ,

I agree with @SureshReddyM, you are talking about physical and aggregated interface, but your screenshots are from the aggregated and the sub-interface.

I recenetly find the following kb - https://knowledgebase.paloaltonetworks.com/KCSArticleDetail?id=kA10g000000boDtCAI hopes it answers your question.

Thanks for the update and quick reply. I'll be sure to keep an eye on this thread. Looking for the same issue. Bumped into your thread. Thanks for creating it. Looking forward for solution.

Hello Suresh,

Thank you for your reply. But the issue is in my case the logical interface is showing more traffic as compared to the AE interface. Also, I am attaching the graph for the physical interfaces.interface pic 1.PNGInterface pic 2.PNG
