Any Impact on Renaming NAT and Security Rules?

L2 Linker

Hey all!

Not been able to find info other than the impact of renaming zones which requires killing of sessions.

Thank you,

Daniel

@mr_almeida,

I've never ran into any issues while renaming either; if a session is already established it continues to work perfectly fine, and new sessions will match the updated entry.

@mr_almeida,

Agreed with @BPry! I have done this several times in production environments and never faced any kind of issues. Post commit, new session will start matching the new entries.

Hi,

Although it is possible to accomplish this without any noticeable issues to your environment. Its recommended that you execute this change in a maintenance window.

I've experienced server\end device connectivity loss due to zone renaming. Additionally your BGP peer sessions will need to re-establish.
