Global protect enforcer and public wifi captive portal

L0 Member

Dear community,

We have deployed Prisma access Global protect [agent 5.2.9], enabling network enforcer and captive portal detection [ 10 min timer and captive portal message].

We are experiencing mixed results with users getting an error web page when joining the public wifi.

We are able to get more consistent results when network enforcer is disabled.

It feels like the builtin captive portal detection probes are not working all the time

Had any one experienced similar issues?

Hi @CI-larles

Do the same users get different results in the same wifi networks or are there different networks with different results? What error do the users see that you mentionned? Is it only right at the time when they connect to the network and after a few seconds it may be works with accessing the captive portal?

In the past I had quite a few issues with such situations and mainly with the enforcer, but actually so far with the latest versions of GP 5.2 it works pretty good. So if you could add some more details, that would be helpful.
