After installing the GlobalProtect client software on a Windows 7 Home laptop, even when the client is not being used, every so often a message will pop up with "on demand" will connect on its own and it will not time-out. The only way to stop it is to kill the process in the task manager. The disconnect is greyed out and it will not allow me to stop this. We are currently using version 1.1.3.
Perhaps this is a bug?

Hi Robert,
There are two connections that happen with the GP client. The first connection that always must be tried is the connection to the Portal. Once it's connected to the portal it's able to download the portal config and determine if it's on demand or not. If it is on demand, the second connection that happens which is to the gateway, should not occur until you manually hit connect.
If this is not what is happening, you may need to open a case with us.
Thanks,
Jason Seals
