GlobalProtect & User-ID

L2 Linker

Hello,

I am trying to find some information on how to configure GlobalProtect with User-ID but haven't been able to. What I am trying to do is to enforce a new policy where when some of the users, who have laptops that aren't joint to the enterprise AD but have AD user accounts, will need to use GlobalProtect. And, use GlobalProtect with User-ID as the method to map their username to their laptops/mobilie devices IP address.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Best, ~zK

As for Global Protect authenticate with AD Credential, It will not require the PC is join domain, As long as you enter the correct AD credential will do

Thanks!

We do have GP configured for users to VPN from the public/UnTrust but when we don't have it configured to allow them to use GP when they're on the private/Trust network. I'm trying to find out what I will need to configure to make this work where when an end-user uses GP on the inside netowrk they'll be able to access the public network and, also, be able to access internal resources.

Thanks again.

Are you trying to say, When User GP from External is connected to Internal, You wan allow them to access to internet through the Gateway as well

For this requirement, you will have to setup internal gateway along with internal host detection. Once the user is inside the network, GP will automatically detect that with the help of internal host detection and connect to the internal gateway.

On the internal gateway, you do need to configure tunnel mode, so the GP users will still keep the original private ip.

Since they will be authenticating to the gateway, a user-ip mapping will be created for them with type GP.

this doc is a little old but should get you started

Note: Internal host detection does not work if the connect method is "on -demand". It has to be User-logon

Thanks much for the info.!

I'll review the docs and come back with questions or the results after I've completed deplying this new solution.

Thanks again!
